Description:
Gene is an Emergency Room Physician at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, and a ski doctor at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort. He did his medical training at the University of Alberta and Dalhousie University. After completing his training he spent a year working in Edmonton, but was soon drawn to the diabase cliffs and clean cold lakes of Northern Ontario. After four great years in Thunder Bay, he now makes his permanent home on Vancouver Island. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, ski mountaineering, and ice climbing in winters; during the summer he enjoys windsurfing, kayaking, and cycling. He regularly consults and provides medical guidance to outdoor organizations, in particular polar expedition organizations.
