Karen can generally be found west of the Mississippi and gravitates to places where skiing takes priority over much else. Karen’s background is in guiding and directing year-round outdoor adventure programs for people with disabilities with a focus on wilderness trips. Her love for the nuances and complexities of wilderness medicine is fueled through her involvement with the local search and rescue team, as a ski patroller, as an medic and, of course, through teaching courses with WMA.
